The Law on Local Self-Government Financing prescribes that the revenue from collected property tax is to be used fully by local self-governments. This means that all locally collected revenue is invested directly into the municipality where it was collected, in the maintenance and construction of streets, roads, water and sewage networks, schools and kindergartens, and for investing in cultural events. The gain is twofold - happy citizens and functional municipalities.
